So mote HUB be!

We’re getting questions about new life of HUB, different proposals and a lot of new strings. That’s why we decided at least partly but tell you about current situation, to calm our friends and find new partners, we decided to tell everything that’s going on. The best way, that came in mind — just visions of participants of the project.

Ivan Yarmoshuk:
You know, I’m so happy that I managed to Holland. I’m living here for a third week and I keep up surprising, how much we want to invent a bicycle Yes, we have to take into account the context, but no one declined principles and mechanisms of work. I want to assure you right away, I’m not going to emigrate, on the opposite, after few days of devouring new information I wanted to test everything on practice. And practice is in Russia. What is here right now is a result of a long annual work. Constant improvements, search for better results, big collective work. We are pretty much far away, but at least we know our goals.

One of the most important moments that I understood. Everything should be proportionate to requests. We can make huge contemporary facility, but who needs it? Let’s take a paradigmatic example of libraries. What place do they take in a modern world? It takes a lot of money to keep them going, you know… I’m preparing nearly 20 posts about cultural and educational projects in Holland, about architecture, about redevelopment of manufacturing facilities based on materials I gathered during my trip. So don’t flip the channel. I will publish everything on a web-site. By the way, I propose to work more about the site, to make an accent on redacting job, to finally start making reviews and analytics.

Evgeniy Karasev:
Ivan, I wish you a creative business trip, learning the most modern trends in Holland design. I’m in St. Petersburg, completed half of my work here, I checked out nearly 20 objects. Everything here is, of course, with projection onto Russian reality, but influence of European conceptualism is much noticeable than in Moscow. About sufficient and rational usage of resources — no one’s against =) I want to just to remind you one more time that existence of HUB in it’s previous view and with it’s old finance model is impossible. Only three variants are available with these types of projects:
1.Demand of the government which means governmental or city council’s financing. Personally, I don’t think that’s a good idea. Stable financing kills “hunger”, and hunger is a great motivator! I don’t want HUB to be another governmental Culture Center. For justice’s sake — I’m for partial governmental financing.
2.Social order for a cultural project. Well that’s the hip! The only thing that people should pay for their order. Practice shows us that there is a requirement in Cheboksary, but HUB’s offers on this stage are overly sufficient. Certain events are required, not a place itself.
3.Changing the place by it’s owner. Hello-hello! I can’t see anyone who wants…
Our way is the second one. We need to form a creative office back home, for us and others who’d like to help us. And big places we’ll leave for big events. Until we create a stable economic model.

Ivan Yarmoshuk:
No one’s splashing money here in Holland, but there has to be always someone who who pays. Capital cash investments are going from the owner of a factory or a territory, or a government which is interested in social situation improvement.
We MUST translate everything into English, or we live outcasted. I can’t even share a link to our site here — no one will understand it. It’s a shame to be stewing in our own juice ignoring cooperation with the rest of the world. Everyone here seems to be surprised when they hear that not many people know English here in Russia.

Dmitiy Donskov:
Firstly, while projecting future HUB as one of many, even though the first one. Secondly, singularity of every HUB is in conjunction of subtle matters and high technologies. Practically, for a visitor, or for a partner it looks simply as high-speed internet and and high-quality video conference between HUBs. Thirdly, HUB is a place where everyone self-developing can help to develop HUB’s place in a simple and easy way. This way is minimally 8 hours a year of a free of charge work for territory’s good. It’s so-called headquarters of Better City builders, it’s a place where everyone interested can study best practices of city-building, architecture, space-design, etc. and any other improvelogical [word created by author] people.

Now everyone has to help Yarmoshuk in his will to create. RIght by the losung DDD [Do, Think what you done, Do again], which HUB’s partner — “Biznes Molodost [Business Youth]” likes so much. And — by the classic model of any startup — start an efficient model and complete in progress. And tell Yarmoshuk about how the process is going, involve him in crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, etc.
